Luptáková, J. Economic reforms of Korea in the period of transition to democracy. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel university, 2023. The bachelor's thesis presents the issue of the economic development of Korea during the transition to democracy in the eighties and nineties of the 20th century. The main goal of the bachelor's thesis is to answer and evaluate the research question: What were the factors of successful economic development in the period of political transformation when the country generally faced economic decline and imbalances? The main subject of the bachelor thesis is the analysis of the implemented reforms and their impact on the economic development of Korea in the specified period. The theoretical starting points are drawn from available, mostly foreign scientific and professional literature and reliable, verified internet sources. In the theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis, the focus is on defining the concepts necessary for the analytical part. In the analytical part, research methods such as analysis, synthesis, deduction, and generalization are used to describe the economic development of Korea during the political transition to democracy. The actual contribution of the work is in summarizing the acquired knowledge and providing one's own perspective on the investigated issue, plus in the evaluation of the chosen monetary, fiscal and exchange rate policy in Korea during the transition to democracy.
Economic Reforms of Nikita S. Khruschev

The bachelor thesis "Economic Reforms of Nikita S. Khruschev" analyzes the process of the Soviet economy during 1953-1964. It focuses on agricultural reform. Major emphasis is insisted on so-called seven-year plan from 1959-1965. For clarification of context of the paper, it includes events since the beginning of early thirties. The main goal of these reforms was to attain a level of U.S. agricultural production. During the seven-year plan, the increase of production was designed for 70%. Finally, the realization of this idea failed, partly because of the negative impacts of the reforms from 1958. This study aims to analyze the reasons of the collapse of Soviet agriculture during the seven-year plan and uncover a proportion of system faults. The thesis also examines the contradiction between the stated goals and reality.

This work discusses the change in Indian position in international relations during the Cold War. It is a qualitative case study, which is also dedicated to finding influences that caused the change in the Indian position. Work includes the following sections. The first part describes the theory of international relations relevant to the study of the Indian position within the great power relations. Next part analyzes India's economic development and historical development of India's foreign policy and relations with the most important global actors. The final chapter is a study of global governance institutions and policies of BRICS and its position to the institutions of global governance.

Special economic zones in the People's Republic of China (1979-2001)

The main aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the development of special economic zones in the People's Republic of China since the reform leadership took the power until the era when PRC entered the WTO. The author examines this issue in the broader context of the Open Door policy and the whole reform process, assesses the changing role of special economic zones in China's economy, their successes, but also failures. The emphasis is mainly placed on the evaluation of the development and structure of foreign direct investment, GDP and exports in special economic zones. The author concluded that the main benefits of special economic zones was their experimental feature and that there was a gradual reduction in the importance of special economic zones in Chinese economy in the examined period.

The aim of this thesis is an analysis of economic development in Soviet Union during the era of Nikita S. Khrushchev. The thesis examines reforms initiated after 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, primarily agriculture and industry. Simultaneously is analyzed socioeconomic situation of post-Stalinist Soviet Union and reasons obliging Khrushchev to plan and carry through with reforms. Efficiency of these reforms, their effect on soviet economy and on standard of living of soviet citizens will be evaluated. As a source will be used monographies, sub-studies and archive materials.
Development and current position of China in the world economy

The diploma thesis analyses development and current position of China in the world economy. It focuses in detail on the economic reforms being implemented since the end of the 70s, on their course and impact on China's economy, on the economic situation of China at the beginning of 21st century and on the impact of the world crisis on China's economy and its role in international affairs as well. This thesis also deals with China's accession to the World Trade Organization, its commitments, benefits and impacts, and relations, especially economic, with the United States, the European Union and selected countries in the Asian region. The thesis identifies and characterizes some of the main problems which China is facing as a result of its development.

The aim of my bachelor thesis is an analysis and the evaluation of an economic development of Chinese economy at the beginning of new millennium with emphasis on current trends. At first I speak about an economic development after taking over a power by Communist party and the following reforms in eighties and nineties, which maked China open to the world. There is analyzed internal economic situation with an evaluation of macroeconomic indicators in 21 st century. Last two chapters are concentrated on the Chinese role in international relations and the evaluation at the whole with prediction of following economic development.
Economic development of Japan between 1945-1952

This work deals with the economic reforms in the postwar Japan. The country was under the American occupation after the surrender. In the beginning I would like to target closely postwar situation in Japan and Douglas MacArthur's enter into the Japanese politics. Subsequently I would take a close look at the economic recovery and the reformations. I'll mention the Korean War and its consequences to Japan. Then I'll write about the recovery of Japanese economy in the 1950s. Finally I'll describe some factors important for quick economic recovery of Japan and I'll outline the late economic development.
Hospodářské reformy v Sovětském svazu (1985 ? 1991)

Cílem této seminární práce je analýza vývoje charakteristik Sovětského svazu během reformního období spojeného s M. S. Gorbačovem. Právě proměně základních atributů sovětského systému se věnuje první část práce. Pro druhou část práce jsem vybral konkrétní reformní kroky sovětského vedení, které měly přispět k obnovení hospodářského rozvoje. U těchto opatření jsou popsána jejich východiska, zamýšlené důsledky a skutečné dopady. Celá práce by tak měla svým obsahem přispět k diskuzi o možnosti reformování sovětského hospodářství i samotného Sovětského svazu. Práce dokazuje, že upuštění od základních znaků sovětského systému spolu se změnami v hospodářství nevedlo k nastolení rozkvětu ekonomiky a státu. Ale naopak výrazně přispělo k celkové destabilizaci, a proto práce dokazuje nereformovatelnost Sovětského svazu i jeho hospodářství.
